The Kingdom of Wonder is best known for the carved sandstone temples of Angkor Wat, and for good reason — the Hindu and Buddhist temples were constructed between the 9th and 16th centuries, when the Khmer Empire stretched across Southeast Asia from sea to sea.<\/p>\n

Days 1 – 5<\/h2>\n

Day 1: Intro to Siem Reap and Cambodian Culture. <\/strong>Get a feel for the city with a \u201cMyths & Legends\u201d walking tour, uncovering history hidden in plain sight. Experience the fusion of culture and discipline in a Kun Khmer boxing class.<\/p>\n

Day 2: Countryside bike tour to Phnom Krom stilt village.<\/strong> Bike past lotus ponds and rice fields, and eat lunch with a local family on their floating house. In the evening, prepare to be awe-struck by the artists at Phare circus.<\/p>\n

Day 3: Handicraft tour with local artisans.<\/strong> Throw your own ceramic pot, weave baskets from grass, and visit workshops for wood and stone carving. Over dinner, take in an Apsara dance performance.<\/p>\n

Day 4: War history. <\/strong>Take a guided tour of the war museum, and see APOPO demining rats. Talk with locals about their experiences growing up under the Khmer Rouge.<\/p>\n
