{"id":2553,"date":"2014-12-08T06:00:59","date_gmt":"2014-12-07T23:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/?p=2553"},"modified":"2022-09-22T13:54:50","modified_gmt":"2022-09-22T06:54:50","slug":"bike4kids-kick-off-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/bike4kids-kick-off-performance\/","title":{"rendered":"Bike4Kids Kick-off Performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>By Emily Martin<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bike4Kids Kick-off Performance<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Saturday morning, 6<sup>th<\/sup> December, the Elephant Terraces in Angkor Wat were buzzing with the hundreds of riders taking part in the 2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/bike4kids.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bike4Kids<\/a> event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cyclists of all ages (even an 84-year-old!) participated in the 17km, 30km and 100km races \u2013 helping raise money for four charities in Cambodia working to protect children and end human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The charities are;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccpcr.org.kh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Cambodian Centre for the Protection of Children\u2019s Rights<\/a> (CCPCR)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilnodoonlus.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Il Nodo<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cwcc.org.kh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cambodian Women\u2019s Crisis Centre<\/a> (CWCC)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aplecambodia.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Action Pour Les Enfants<\/a> (APLE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year the organising committee wanted to add an extra element to the day, while still keeping in line with the vision of the event \u2013 to give back to others. Because of this they contacted Phare, The Cambodian Circus (a social enterprise) to see if we would partner with them and add a different spark!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Of course we obliged \u2013 and on Saturday we spent the morning doing workshops with children, performing and interacting with the riders and families.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We\u2019re looking forward to working with Bike4Kids again next year and making the event even bigger and better for their 10<sup>th<\/sup> year!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Here are some photos from the
