Ringling International Arts Festival (RIAF)<\/a> will be the highlight \u2013 with Khmer Metal performing over the 15th<\/sup> \u2013 19th<\/sup> of October alongside other talented and accomplished acts.<\/p>\n You may have heard of the world-famous \u2018Ringling brothers circus\u2019 <\/a>\u2013 this festival is organised by one of those brothers!<\/p>\n John Ringling was one of the five brothers who owned and operated the circus rightly called\u00a0\u201cThe Greatest Show on Earth.\u201d\u00a0 His success with the circus and entrepreneurial skills helped to make him, in the Roaring Twenties, one of the richest men in America, with an estimated worth of nearly $200 million.<\/p>\n John and his wife established a museum which houses exhibitions, performances, films, programs and events. Their aim? To a great cultural centre on Florida\u2019s West Coast.<\/p>\n In 2016 the museum will open the centre for Asian art, a dynamic new extension of the Museum of Art that will support teaching and research on Asian art and culture. The centre will provide educational opportunities for students and scholars from around the world and enable the public to better understand and appreciate Asian history and society through exhibitions, programs, and publications.<\/p>\n The arts festival, held in Florida each year, is a four day celebration where artists and audiences from across America and the world come together at the Ringling to experience a phenomenon of arts.
