We joined with Shinta Mani and Travel Indochina to give 200 children from three N.G.O.s a great party.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/childrens_gala05.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-710 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/childrens_gala05-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"childrens_gala(05)\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>Youngsters from \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/buildyourfuturetoday.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Build Your Future Today<\/a>\u201d, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gracehousecambodia.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grace House<\/a> and Green gecko were invited to the Circus site behind the Angkor National Museum last Sunday for a special New Year\u2019s Gala show. All the youngsters were invited to put on their own brief show, which was greeted with huge applause. There was a song with plenty of international flags, from \u201cBuild Your Future Today\u201d. Green Gecko followed with a spirited version of Gangnam Style, complete with some acrobatics. <a href=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/childrens_gala11.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-716\" src=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/childrens_gala11-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"childrens_gala(11)\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>Finally Grace House performed two numbers, which included juggling and cup banging.<\/p>\n<p>To complete the show, the cast from \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/project\/phsong-preng-the-adventure\/\">The Adventure<\/a>\u201d \u2013 the current show at Phare The Cambodian Circus, put on a cabaret show. Their mock shyness and fumbling of tricks was soon replaced with their more characteristic confidence and perfectly performed stunts. The climax \u2013 a three man high pyramid where the top man is thrown to the top was executed to a huge round of applause and much laughter from the assembled audience.<\/p>\n<p>The children were all treated to a \u201cgoodie bag\u201d to settle put them firmly into the spirit of the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>Guy Singer, Public Relations Consultant for the Circus said \u201cEveryone should have their 15 seconds of fame, and for one afternoon all the children had the opportunity to be stars in their own right. Who knows, maybe one day, some of them might be performing under the big top as stars of the future.
