And of course, Phare came out to support the cause as well and draw attention in our own unique style\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puppet-parade2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-939\" alt=\"puppet-parade(2)\" src=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puppet-parade2.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"903\" \/><\/a>We don\u2019t have many giant artistic puppet sculptures up our sleeves at our circus.\u00a0 Our \u201cparade float\u201d was a bit more, we\u2019ll call it, civilian. Our moto and heavy-duty trailer was rigged up with some modest d\u00e9cor and we packed it with the one thing we\u2019ve got plenty of \u2013 talented performers!\u00a0 And don\u2019t forget enthusiasm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puppet-parade3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-940\" alt=\"puppet-parade(3)\" src=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puppet-parade3.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"428\" \/><\/a>Phare musicians crammed onto our ride and could be heard moving through the parade 100 meters ahead and you could feel the difference as our performers marched by. Actually you could see the difference \u2013 everyone near our crew was dancing!<\/p>\n<p>Things started off high energy as well.\u00a0 Opening the parade was the all female Madagascan drumming band and several of our performers leading the charge with handsprings, flips and cartwheels\u2026 With the girls drum beats echoing off the block, and all the dancing, one could have mistaken the scene Brazilian Carnival<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puppet-parade4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-941\" alt=\"puppet-parade(4)\" src=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puppet-parade4.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"957\" \/><\/a>After marching all around Pub Street, back and forth across bridges all the way up the river, some stunts were thrown in for good measure and a thousand fliers distributed in an effort to entice people to visit our \u201cBig-Top\u201d the next night\u2026 And from the looks of packed house on Sunday \u2013 it looks like it worked!<a href=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puppet-parade5.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-942\" alt=\"puppet-parade(5)\" src=\"https:\/\/pharecircus.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/puppet-parade5.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"861\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Phare Took\u00a0 to the Street Last Weekend \u2013 We love a Parade!\u00a0 February 24th, 2014 Few events get locals and tourists alike celebrating on the streets of Siem Reap like the annual praise-worthy parade put on by the Giant Puppet Project.
